At the onset of 2020 I resolved to take a photograph every day of the year. I met my goal and now I share with you each photograph on the same day in 2020 as I am posting in 2022.
In retrospect, I realize there are very few keepers in this lot of 365 photographs. My original intention was to go out on backroads every day and make beautiful landscape photographs. I soon learned that photographing landscapes was an unrealistic commitment and changed my focus of subject matter to document whatever caught my eye. As it turned out, there were many days that just clicking the shutter was the best I could do to produce a photograph.
Those days may only be apparent to me and my memory of the day. Now as I post each day, the images become a personal photographic diary, documenting my actions and thoughts throughout 2020.
As I entered into this project, I thought it very clever that the year was 2020, a double entendre for perfect vision, 20/20. I had no idea it would be the disastrous year of Covid-19. As it turned out, photography was my escape from the house and a mentally healthy way to physically avoid catching the virus.
I've struggled with how to present these photographs because of the quantity. Posting each day on Facebook and this website seems to be the best solution.
